Gloria Dei has many opportunities for congregation members to participate in worship services:
- The altar guild is responsible for setting up the altar, refilling the candles, organizing the banners, cleaning linens and robes, etc.
- Once a month, bread bakers provide homemade bread for during Holy Communion.
- Communion assistants read lessons and help distribute communion.
- Acolytes, who are in 7th through 12th grade, light candles, help with communion and processions, and perform other tasks.
- Greeters welcome people to the church before each service.
- Ushers help seat people, collect the offering, and generally keep things running.
- Various music groups contribute to the 8:30 and 11:00 services.
In addition, you can help prepare for worship by stuffing bulletins, or help serve coffee from 9:45 - 11:00 Sunday morning. You can also provide flowers for the altar or volunteer to help at the Welcome Center on Sunday mornings.
