5th - 8th Grade
Junior Youth Group (f/k/a Confirmation Class) meets on Sunday mornings from 9:30 am until 10:15 am in the Youth Room, located in the lower level of the church (take the stairs by the library). Students from 5th through 8th grades learn more about the faith they were baptized into with interesting and fun lessons and videos each week. Students are expected to attend classes, do a special project, and complete hours of service. At the culmination of their 8th grade year, students and their families will come together with the whole congregation to celebrate with them the affirmation of their baptism. This celebration will be during the 10:30 am worship service on May 5, 2019. Email Wayne Bormann @ email@example.com with any questions you may have.

CURRENT EVENT DISCUSSION GROUP
You are invited to join us on Wednesdays from 5:00 - 5:45 PM in the Conference Room. This is perfect for parents of children in the choir; those arriving early for Church Night Supper; those looking to make some new acquaintances; and those wanting to discuss current items in the news along with the relevance to modern Christian living. Based on The Wired Word, we link the latest headlines to appropriate Scripture. Each week will include biblical commentary and discussion questions related to a recent topic in the news. No commitment - just drop in. Meets September - May.
THEOLOGY ON THURSDAYS
Meets on Thursdays at 1:30 p.m. in the church library from September - May.
Moses: September 7 - October 12. It doesn't get much more dramatic: rescued baby, life in the courts of Pharaoh, parting the Red Sea, leading his people out of Egypt... Moses' life wa one challenge after the next, but although he resisted God's calling, by the end of his life he successfully fulfilled the role he was given. Join award-winning author Adam Hamilton as he travels from Egypt to Mt. Sinai, the Nile, the Red Sea, and the wilderness exploring the sites of Moses' life. As Hamilton shares historical information, archaeological data, and biblical text, you will gain a better understanding of Moses' significance in your life today, and you will discover how you, too, can turn your own reluctance into boldness. Contact Denise Marnen-Jirka for more information.
Undaunted: October 19 - November 16. Christine Caine awakens the listener to how God works in us in order to work through us. Using her dramatic life story, she shows how God rescued her from a life of being unnamed, unwanted, and unqualified, so that she, in turn, could rescue others. She issues a personal, direct call-to-action: Be the love, Bring the home. Be the change. Contact Denise Marnen-Jirka for more information.
SCRIPTURE CIRCLE BIBLE STUDY
This group gathers on Wednesday mornings from 10:00-11:00 AM in the beautiful church library. This study tends to be a deeper thinking discussion group addressing the scripture lessons for the upcoming week. Contact Pastor Tim for more information.
THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD SERIES
This class is offered Wednesdays, September 13 - November 29, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the conference room.
This course is for anyone who wants to get a big picture overview of the Bible, its story, and how that story connects with our own personal stories. We begin in Genesis with creation, move through heroic and important ancestors in the faith, from the Old Testament into the New Testament. We will learn about Jesus' life, death and resurrection with the appearance of the Holy Spirit and birth of the Church and end with the book of Revelation.
WHEN GOD WHISPERS YOUR NAME: AN ADVENT DISCUSSION GROUP
This will be offered on Sundays during Advent; December 3, 10, 17 in the church lounge from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m.
Somewhere, between the pages of this book written by Max Lucado, and the pages of your heart, God is speaking. And He is calling you by name. In the Bible and in the circumstances of your life, He whispers your name lovingly, tenderly, patiently but persistently. Let these stories remind you of the God who knows your name. This group will listen to and talk about select stories from this book. Drop in when you can to discuss how God is calling you. For more information contact Joyce Pauly.
