Gloria Dei offers many opportunities for musicians of all ages and abilities to participate. Choirs and musical groups are listed below. If you’re interested in singing or playing a musical instrument in worship, please contact our Director of Music and we will find a place for you to participate.

GLORIA DEI MUSICAL ENSEMBLES:

FAITH CHOIR -TRADITIONAL CHOIR: HIGH SCHOOL - ADULT

Faith Choir provides liturgical leadership and anthems for the 8:30 a.m. service on most Sundays and festivals. Participation is open to all, and no previous experience is necessary. Rehearsals resume Wednesday, September 3rd.

MERCY RISING - CONTEMPORARY VOCAL & INSTRUMENTAL:  HIGH SCHOOL - ADULT

The band Mercy Rising provides musical leadership at the 10:30 a.m. service. This ensemble is open to experienced vocalists and instrumentalists. Our band currently includes voice, guitar, bass, and drums.

GLORIA DEI BELL CHOIR: YOUTH - ADULT

Gloria Dei Bell Choir is for those with previous handbell experience and musicians who want to learn to play handbells. Musicians of any age are welcome. This group rings monthly in worship at either the 8:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. services. Rehearsals resume Wednesday, September 3rd.

BLESSED NOTES CHOIR: GRADE 2- ADULT

Blessed Notes is open to children, youth and adults in kindergarten and older interested in learning to play bells and chimes and how to sing.  We not only teach how to read music, understand note values and rhythms, play rhythm instruments, and to understand how music is incorporated into our worship services, but we also play games and have fun!  The choir is a blend of singing and ringing handchimes and/or handbells (which really are easy to learn!)  We will occasionally play/sing for worship as our schedule dictates. Rehearsals resume Monday, September 8th.

Vocal and instrumental soloists are encouraged to contact the Director of Music Ministries to arrange rehearsals and opportunities to share your talents in worship. If you are interested in participating, I will find a place for you!

National Lutheran Choir

The National Lutheran Choir, under the direction of Dr. David Cherwien, seeks to strengthen, renew and preserve the Lutheran heritage of choral music through the highest standards of performance and literature.
